Money for Moray has secured funding from the Scottish Government's Empowering Communities/Investing in Communities Fund.
This funding has been obtained to to support projects which will make Moray “A Fairer Moray for All”

The funding will be allocated to East Moray & West Moray** with an additional allocation to the eight Associated School Groups for projects which will be put forward by and for young people.
Money for Moray wants to put YOU in control of how and where it’s spent.

The ‘Money for Moray’ initiative lets the local community decide for themselves which projects are needed in the area.

**East Moray consists of Speyside, Keith, Milne's & Buckie Associated School Groups
**West Moray consists of Forres, Elgin x2 & Lossiemouth Associated School Groups.
Please ensure that the correct box is ticked on your application form.
If your project is Moray wide please tick East/West according to where your organisation is based.


Projects that are sustainable and will:

1. Deliver one or more of the following priorities:-

  • Accessibility/connectivity to services and support
     - Transport
     - Fuel Poverty
     - Rural areas of Moray
  • Health & Wellbeing
     - Promoting outdoor activities to improve mental wellbeing & reduce social isolation
     - Food insecurity
  • Growing a diverse & sustainable ecomomy
     - Employability & life skills
     - Volunteering
     - Intergenerational projects

2. Provide additional or new services

3. Include a community engagement/community capacity building/community empowerment element.

4. Take place in Moray and will be aimed at improving the situation that people in challenging circumstances find themselves.

Projects must meet all four criteria.

Ongoing running costs, such as:

  • Salaries
  • Heating & Lighting
  • Rent
  • Maintenance etc


If you are a new or existing local community or voluntary group based in Moray
**even an informal group–
you can apply for funding from £200 to £4000 to put your ideas into action.
(Only one application per group).

** Informal Groups

  • do not need to have a constitution
  • do not need a bank account but will require the support of a constituted local group prepared to accept monies on your behalf.



  • National or commercial organisations
  • Groups/Organisations with an annual income in excess of £50,000.
  • Community Interest Companies (CICs)
  • Individuals



To apply for the funding a fully completed application must be received before 5.00pm on Friday 3rd April 2020.

Confirmation of any necessary planning permissions and/or consents – for example outdoor fitness equipment on local authority land – will be sought from applicants.

Your Project must be completed by 31st December 2020



If your idea meets the criteria, you will be required to make a short presentation at an event open to the public.
For West Moray this will be held on 16th May 2020 in the Forres Town Hall & for East Moray it will be on 30th May 2020 in Longmore Hall, Keith.
Both events will start with registration at 1.00pm

All those Aged 8+, attending the event will be eligible to vote on the applications.
